CCUB 3621 SECTION 209 SEM 1, 2021/2022

This semester, my class for Usrah Budi is just same like the last semester where we conducting the Usrah online. I feel sad because I cannot have chance to meet my friends from different courses and have the good environment in sharing our thought about the religious issues from Islamic Perspectives. Right now, I started to appreciate this course because it actually help me a lot to learn Islam just in the way of sharing from Naqibah. Usrah for this semester is different from previous usrahs because the way of delivery and the journey of usrah is very fun, more relaxed, not too tight, in fact I can communicate with new friends I know without feeling awkward at all. It is very fun when usrah is conducted like this because it does not burden the students directly and we can learn in an interesting way through activities such as watching videos full of lessons, playing games and watching movies. From what I noticed, all the activities carried out emphasize the spirit of cooperation between usrah members and it is very good to strengthen the friendship between students.

This is when we my group 3 have some discussions about the assignment and have a chit-chat session

Done with that, now let's we go to the task and assignment that our lovey dovey Naqibah, Kak Liaty had explained. We must make a poster about any topic related to Fardhu Kifayah. After have soe discussion with my groupmates, we agreed to choose the topic fardhu kifayah during COVID-19. Why we choose this topic is because it is very related to our current situation in Malaysia. We hope this poster can benefit all of our friends and other people who read the infographic. Althought we done the project last minute, but Alhamdulillah, we made it on time. Thanks to all my groupmates for their cooperation in finishing this project well. We made two types of infographic which are in a form of A4 Poster and Instagram feed format. We do the Instagram format because we want to post it in Instagram and have some feedbacks and comments from other people regarding to the topic. We got a lot of comments and positive feedbacks. Thanks to all of them, this project become a successfull.

MY REFLECTION

From the assignment, I got a lot of new knowledge regarding to Fardhu Kifayah. Before this, we just focus on Fardhu A'in until we forgot about the importance of Fardhu Kifayah. Nowadays Fardhu Kifayah is much important as fardhu ain because it is actually a sinful if there is no one doing the fardhu kifayah in a community.

I also learnt that during COVID-19, there are so much platform or fardhu kifayah that we need to be responsible with as it is our task to make sure all of us not left behind or in distress without anyone’s help. For the poster, I am in charge to find the example of Fardhu Kifayah that people can do during the pandemic COVID-19. I gave example which is Solat Jenazah during pandemic. As we already know, Solat Jenazah is one of the Fardhu Kifayah. But, because of COVID-19, there are various SOPs that we need to follow to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Before the plague, we usually perform solat jenazah at the family home of the deceased after being bathed and shrouded before being taken to the grave. But know, the process is different. After the person died, the hospital and authorities will take fully responsible to manage the jenazah. Family just can come to hospital and recognized the jenazah only. After that the corpse handling will tayammum the deceased outwardly then shrouded. Then, they will perform Solat Jenazah just among them without the family members. Eventually, the jenazah will be taken to the grave by hearse. Family members can only see from outside the cemetery because just a few people can be in the cemetery at a certain time.

I read at Mufti Wilayah Website regarding to the solat jenazah in absentia during pandemic. I had learnt that families can do solat jenazah at home without the jenazah as long as it meet the requirements which are:

This jenazah prayer can only be performed after the corpse has been bathed or has been tayammum by the responsible people.
People who perform solat jenazah in absentia must be pure from any hadath and can perform obligatory prayers.

From this assignment, I learnt a lot of new knowledge about the procedure of managing jenazah who passed away because of COVID-19. Thank you so much to Usrah project for taught me to explore new things that everyone should take care of and learn so that if it happens to ourselves, at least we can deal with it well. Hopefully, with this sharing, we can spread more awareness related to fardhu kifayah that can be done by Muslims to more people especially for IIUM Students.

IMPROVEMENT FOR THE COURSE

There are not many improvement that I can say because this Section 209 for Usrah 3 is very good and give many good impacts toward myself. Maybe after this, Naqibah can add more activities and use other platform to make sure the students more interested with the course. Thank you so much to our Naqibah for handling this course so well. I hope my other friends also get benefits from this course as much as me. Thank you so much for all hard-work in making sure the course run smoothly and successful.
